This is the Mid Island Weavers and Spinners (and other fibre enthusiasts) blog page. The group meets the first Wednesday of the month during the fall/winter/spring (September through to June). Meetings are now being held at the library downtown on Commercial St upstairs in their meeting room. Guests are welcome to come...bring your knitting, spinning wheel or other fibre addictions. Meetings usually consist of 5 minutes of business, show and tell (bring something), tea and cookies, and some sort of workshop, seminar or talk where you will learn something fibry and interesting.

Please join us for a dreamy weekend of spinning, visiting with other spinners and lots of good food. The Cowichan Lake Outdoor Education Centre is a lovely, relaxing facility that sits on the shore of Lake Cowichan. Delicious home cooked food, great company and a peaceful, rustic setting far from the cares of the world is a promise. Can you dream of a better weekend to chase away the winter blahs?
Accommodations: 
Cabins – sleep 4 or 5 if upper bunk is used – Cost $289. 
Motel Style – 2 single beds – Cost $289. 
Sectional Dorms – 2x2 lower bunks – Cost $269. 
Above prices include supper Friday evening, all meals Saturday , breakfast and lunch on Sunday, coffee and snacks, and all taxes. Basic bedding is supplied along with a towel and face cloth. You might want to bring your own pillow, an extra towel , a tray for carrying food, toiletries, and a reading light. If you enjoy a glass of wine with your meal bring a bottle along. 


Please complete a registration form (see attached) and forward it along with a $25. non-refundable registration deposit - cheque or cash only. Cheques should be made payable to Kathy McDonald and sent to the address below. Thanks and look forward to seeing you in February.
